ARIDA

Group based project aiming to redesign an electric hair care product to improve its aesthetics, ergonomics and suitability for desired user.

A recalled product was given to allow for in depth product analysis of the internals, externals, user handling studies and manufacturing. It was decided that the target market for the re-design would be those who travel a lot and to whom appearance is of great importance. Findings from the product analysis and research came together to create an adaptable product allowing the user to use the product as both a hair dryer and a curler by simply twisting the product into a right angle. This allowed for easier handling and a more adaptable space saving product than the original.  This is far more suitable for the target market.
